138TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF BLESSED MARY OF THE APOSTLES & BLESSING OF THE PDO
The 138th Birthday of the co-foundress of the Congregation in the Philippine Region was celebrated in a special way that included the participation of the mission partners and friends. The Holy Mass was the highlight of it and blessing of the Philanthropic Development Office (PDO) both officiated by Fr. Albert Poblete, OFM. Sr. Alona Onag, SDS, regional superior, together with Mr. Johny Liao, one of SDS faithful donors cut the ceremonial ribbon. Mrs. Baby Escalona inspired those who were present with her sharing about generosity. She is one of the generous donors of the Region and knows very well that the resources come from God and are meant to be shared with those who are less fortunate. Another speaker is a former SDS scholar, Agnes Canayon who now enjoys a good career and supports the mission of the sisters. She was very grateful for her experiences. The office is located at the ground floor of the Lebanon Shelter Bldg. With simple snacks prepared by the sisters to share with the people, the event was meaningful and solemn.

Seminar -Workshop Using Jungian Enneagram to a New Understanding of Leadership
On December 9-10, 2016 the Region invited Sr. Leticia Garcia, DC to give a seminar- workshop on leadership with the Use of the Jungian Enneagram. She started her talk on the Three Levels of Concerns of the Young people of today. It was interesting how the youth move from the level of seeking to find their identity, one’s self and then moving toward relationships. The last level of concern is how to find their place in the world. Sr. Letty also dealt with the issue of Power, which is crucial in leadership. She shared the six Levels of Power by Janet Hagberg. The last level which is Power of Wisdom is most important in leadership not only in Religious life but in general. But very, very few can achieve this. She gave an example: Aung San Suu Kyi.There were new insights gained on leadership. Affirmation, appreciation of one another in this seminar was likewise achieved.
Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, 128th Foundation Day & Silver Jubilee of Three Sisters
On the occasion of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on December 8, 2016 the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior (Salvatorian Sisters) of the Philippine Region celebrated the 128th Anniversary of its Foundation. Equally important was also the Silver Jubilee celebration of three sisters namely, Sr. Mary Adeline Abamo, SDS; Sr. Frances Mangabat, SDS and Sr. Carolina Lapara. It was a great joy and thanksgiving for the Region, the Jubilarians and their families, Salvatorian Fathers and Lay, as well as friends and mission partners. Most Rev. Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, DD was the main celebrant in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist accompanied by about ten concelebrating priests, especially Salvatorian Fathers. It was held at the Christ the King Shrine Parish along E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon City. Venue for the reception was the Seminary’s covered court. We thank God for this moment of grace and blessings for the life and mission of the sisters and lay partners.
